Site near Chicago to begin production of automated material handling equipment by 2019. Material handling systems provider Wynright Corp. said Tuesday that it plans to expand its North American manufacturing capabilities with a $26 million manufacturing facility and office complex in Indiana. Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based Wynright, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Daifuku North America , said the new facility will consolidate two manufacturing operations under one roof, creating up to 582 new jobs in Indiana by the end of 2021. The 320,400-square-foot facility will be located in Hobart, Ind., just south of Chicago, and will allow the company to support increased demand from its clients, the firm said. Construction is scheduled to begin this fall, with production launched by the end of 2019. The company anticipates filling jobs in administrative, engineering, and manufacturing positions. As an enticement to choose this location, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. (IEDC) offered Wynright up to $5.9 million in conditional tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants, based on the company fulfilling its job creation plans. Wynright designs, manufactures, integrates and installs logistics systems such as conveyor and sortation systems, automated storage and retrieval systems, voice- and light-directed order fulfillment equipment, PLC controls and robotics, and mezzanines and structures.
