Introducing TowerMat: The Space-saving Storage Solution for Heavy Loads

July 11, 2016 –

TowerMat storage solutionManufacturing has changed over the years, but one thing remains the same: how do I create more storage space without taking away room from my valuable manufacturing space? There is a solution to this age-old challenge and its name is TowerMat. This new system not only solves the space issue, but offers some other benefits as well.

TowerMat maximizes storage density and operational efficiency for handling heavy loads by:
o Giving back space to manufacturing rather than taking it
o Being customizable to the available floor space and the ceiling height
o Bringing the inventory you’re looking for to you through its automated delivery system
o Eliminating the need for storage rack and forklifts, (which can take up quite a bit of space), plus requires forklift operators
o Eliminating the need to build additional buildings or expand your existing one

Space-saving Design
One of the most compelling reasons TowerMat is appealing is because of the space it can free up. This floor space can be returned to manufacturing, providing a quick return on investment. Because the units are completely customizable, you get the most bang for your buck.

TowerMatSome other of the space-saving benefits also can translate into cost-savings as well. With no need for extra storage facilities, manufacturers can save big time on cost. This is also true when it comes to machinery. Because the TowerMat doesn’t require a forklift to get inventory, buying forklifts specifically for inventory movement is no longer necessary.

Systems that integrate well with already-in-place machines and methods are a must in the manufacturing industry. TowerMat can certainly replace some old-fashioned machines, but it can also fully integrate with:
o Overhead cranes: these can be attached to TowerMat to easily access heavy inventory
o Interface conveyors
o Forklifts
o Existing (smaller) storage units: these can be put next to TowerMat for an all-in-one dedicated storage area

Store and Retrieve the Extreme
While most companies create storage units for lesser weight inventory, the TowerMat was specifically built to handle larger loads, including inventory up to 11,000 pounds. However, the biggest difference between existing storage solutions and TowerMat is the way this system works.

TowerMat organizes inventory randomly, picking the spot that makes the most logical sense. Because of this random storage, the TowerMat was built as a smart technology, which allows employees to input data to easily find what they’re looking for when they need it. They simply input the tray number and push a button and the inventory is pulled immediately. They also have the option to search for product through a software program.

Storage Solution Essentials
Beyond the actual features of the TowerMat are the essentials that every storage solution should have. These include:
o Ergonomics: TowerMat brings inventory to a safe, easily handled ergonomic height. The smart technology behind TowerMat allows for teams to be productive and efficient
o Protection of inventory: the sturdy, dedicated storage solution allows inventory to be enclosed, which offers solid protection. TowerMat only moves the inventory you are retrieving. There is no reason to move multiple items.
o Accountability of product: TowerMat organizes inventory and allows everything to be easily tracked through its smart technology. Employees can only get to the inventory they have been granted access.
o Uptime: this German-made solution has extraordinary uptime and a long useful life

To sum up TowerMat, it’s an effective, space-saving device that safely and ergonomically handles large and heavy inventory. It also offers a smarter solution to manufacturing warehouse challenges.

Warehouse and manufacturing teams work hard to keep production on track, sometimes without the most up-to-date technologies. The TowerMat system can assist these teams to be more efficient and save the much-needed space in their warehouses.

Are you having storage issues? Think you can’t maximize your floor space further? Give us a call and we’ll be happy to assess your facility and offer advice on how to improve your space.
