Double deep pallet racking is an excellent method for improving storage density when multiple pallets of the same SKU need to be stored. Double deep pallet racking is configured such that pallets are stored four deep, with two pallets accessible from each aisle. Normally, each pallet will be an identical SKU, improving storage density by 15%-20%. In applications in which product shelf life is an issue, controls must be implemented to insure that the rear pallet is picked in a timely fashion. |
