Autopart International leased and renovated a 300,000 SF warehouse to consolidate the operations of 4 warehouse facilities into 1 centralized location. The intent of the project is to support the company’s new design growth goal of approximately 50 stores a year.
Abel Womack designed and installed conveyor and storage systems which enabled Autopart International to effectively manage and store parts inventory, prepare customer orders efficiently and ensure same day shipping.
Energy efficient “green” technology improvements include:
- Voice directed picking software which allowed the distribution center to go paperless.
- New conveyor installed near the top SKU movers to facilitate worker efficiency.
- New controls and RadioBeacon warehouse control software.
- Items are shipped in pick totes and are then recycled, reducing the need for corrugated packaging.
