Get Good Results.
I’m not sure who first said, “Don’t confuse effort with results” but it is an excellent complement to Roosevelt’s quote. Effort for the sake of effort is inefficient and can backfire, squandering your skills and energy. Effort toward a goal, even if it isn’t flawless, is still forward momentum. Pointless action wastes valuable time and resources that could have otherwise been directed towards reaching another goal.
Use Your Resources.
Resource management is an essential aspect of overseeing the efficient management of your business. Take time to identify what resources will be needed throughout any project before you begin and again as the project progresses. Collectively, our energies need to produce the intended result or at least move us closer to the target. If they aren’t, now is the time for reevaluation and revision. Be smart with your resources and align them often with the most critical objectives in front of you.
Seize the Moment.
Our workday responsibilities are plentiful, varied and complicated, and often challenging to prioritize but concentrating on high payoff activities is a must. Action is the name of the game, though, as Teddy suggests. Prioritize the work needed then act on it. Use the resources you have available in your situation – and use them now. Determine how to access them and grab hold to take advantage of all they have to offer. Trust that your resources are reliable; know that they are here, in the present, whatever they may be.
Goal setting, writing a task list with dates and strong work ethic towards results are key ingredients to EVERY successful business person.
Well done and thanks!
