Logistics service provider integrates track and trace platform with Amazon Alexa. Logistics service provider Airspace Technologies said today that it has integrated its network with Amazon.com Inc.’s Alexa devices, allowing shippers other than Amazon to track and trace their shipments using voice commands. Providing a natural language interface will let users track, trace, and review their shipments using voice commands, Airspace said. For example, a user could now ask their Alexa device to check shipping and delivery status , determine a driver’s location, or find out how fast a shipment can get from point A to point B, Airspace said. Supply chain technology provider HighJump Software Inc. also demonstrated an Alexa-based spoken interface to its warehouse management system (WMS) software at a conference in March, but that feature is not yet available for purchase. Carlsbad, Calif.-based Airspace specializes in the handling and delivery of time-critical shipments . shippers "It shocks me that, in 2017, there are human organs being transported that cannot be tracked," Airspace co-founder and CEO Nick Bulcao said in a statement. "You should never have to question where a life-saving organ may, or may not, be." Join the Discussion After you comment, click Post.
