Lift trucks are at the eye of the supply chain storm, providing calmer beverage warehouse handling as stock-keeping units explode and demands for productivity grow more intense.

A beverage distributor’s lift truck fleet needs to accommodate a diverse array of items to be picked, and pallets they will go on, multiple pallets, with trucks that deliver superior maneuverability, ergonomics, interaction with the warehouse management system, and maximum uptime.

“Picking orders today is completely different than in the past,” says Chuck Harry, business development specialist, Abel Womack, an authorized sales and service center for the Raymond Corp. More SKUs means more mixed pallets going out the door. “The need to increase productivity while managing these complex orders is nearly always at the top of the list for improvement,” Harry says.
