As part of a planned expansion, Abel Womack installed a second level mezzanine onto a Unarco pick module, effectively doubling the amount of pick module SKU’s while maintaining the same overall footprint within the building.
The expanded system conveys, tracks and ships approximately 6000 to 8000 totes daily, servicing over 200 retail stores and accommodating the company's yearly retail growth plans.
Abel Womack performed the re-slotting of the new SKU’s utilizing Slot 3D software. This enabled faster-moving SKU’s to be relocated to the most effective location to speed up the order picking operations.
These efforts helped the client increase their average picking metrics over 30%; from 90 lines/hr to 120 lines/hr.
